SERAUXMEN – HISTORY

It all started with a group of young men hosting a car wash fundraiser at the Tally Ho Hotel in 1967.  Ever since then the Serauxmen Service Club has been helping children, families and groups in need around the Harbour City.  With five decades under our belt, the group hopes to recruit more members and sponsors.

The Serauxmen represent a group of guys at an age where we are very grateful for what we have in our lives and we want to give back to our community.  Our members include business owners, managers, leaders, employees and guys just wanting to help out locally.  The club fundraises and then distributes the money to families in need and charitable organizations.

Known at first as the Service Auxiliary Men, the name was shortened to Serauxmen and the Serauxmen Sports Fields off  Wakesiah Avenue is our group’s most widely recognized project.  We started with a car wash fund raiser and now host ‘Beer and Burger nights’, a ‘Sports Celebrity Dinner’, an annual ‘Golf Tournament’ as well as offer bartending services for special events.  We are always looking for more sponsors, new members and ways to help our local Nanaimo community.
